THRASH BRIGADE/BURST UP split LP

Hey.
As I've written somewhere else, after the band NERVI called it quits i felt terribly lost.
I really didn't know what to do, or who to ask for to create another band, and i started thinking madly to someone who could be interested in playing fast music. Finally, I found in Andrea (vox) and Carlo (git) the perfect bandmates for what would have been one of the fastiest and sloppiest bands i would have ever played. Completing the line up with anarcho/militant/vegan warrior Fred (who was also really into 50's  r'n'r - hey today' he's a tattoo artist, has this anything to do with it?), Thrash Brigade had the opportunity to tour finland for 8 days without even a demotape out. How? Well, we managed to set up a show for the finnish band KIKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO in Milano; at the time we were trying to do something exciting in a very crusty place called APPRODO CARONTE. That show became TxBx first show, very chaotic but, at least i love to remember it his way, totally intense. So we started this relationship with finnish fellas, something that is still going on today, even after all these years.
Well anyway, we recorded this split with sicilians BURST UP some time before we split; i decided to quit the band because of personal problems with some of the other fellas. I think the recording sux a lil' bit because we were in a rush, we had to hurry up because we had no money and a friend of us, who was working in the recording studio at the time, was doing it between other band's sessions...so i think we felt too much pressure and even the mixxxing was done without a proper work as an entire band.
Thrash Brigade played a mix of fastcore and powerviolence, with a really thin guitar sound (Carlo has always been into SST bands like Victim's Family) and a completely fucked up screamed vocals all over the place.
BURST UP were called "the italian Spazz" (maybe after COLOSS decided to change  their style...) and just listen to their side, you'll fully understand why...
To this day Andrea the vocalist is singing for IDIOCRACY, together with members from Death Before Work! (well, not me, obviously), Suppurated, Abel is Dying, while Carlo is playing with Scena and Cusack. Fred left the scene and is fully dedicated to his tattoo shop.

DEATH BEFORE WORK! discography

DEATH BEFORE WORK! is a 4 piece from Milano, Italy, in which i sing.
I think i joined them around 2006, but they already existed since 2005, even if prior to my arrive they had never left the basement.

Here you get the complete discography so far:

MESSAGEBOARD PUNX ON A ROPE cd (SOA records)

the COMRADES/DEATH BEFORE WORK! split ep (STRESSTODEATH records)

DBW! live @ Skatepark Lambrooklyn (SHITCHRIST TAPES - tape only)

BOMB THE VATICAN cd ep (self released - cd-r)

Musically, it's very fast hardcorethrash with breakdowns and grinding tempo changes here and there.
Lyrically, there's some fun going on, criticising every aspect of  everyday scenesterrier (quoting Comrades) life.

Enjoy!

SWIISSH! - save planet earth...make no more children (demo cd-r)

After some time that NERVI had split, i rejoined my old bandmates Melo and Davide (respectively on vocals and bass) and we started talking again about the creation of a fastcore/powerviolence combo, but with more emphasis on thrash metal riffs. We found a good axe in Adam, who was 16 at the time, and his energy and enthusiasm took the band on a very high level (not much technically, i have to admit. I've never been a real drummer, more of a percussionist trying to play as fast as possibile). We took our name from the frontcover of Diabolik, an old time running italian comic, and we liked both the sound of the word itself than its concept (it's the word used to underline the sound of a thrown knife). We lasted maybe a year and a half, and we gave light to this demo cd-r. Even at this time, most of us were living in a squat (3/4 members excluding me) and our lyrics dealt a lot with everyday madness in the capitalist life. After the band split up, Davide moved to another town and it's only now that he has started to work on a new musical project, while both Melo and Adam continued until today, the first with IRON MOLAR and the younger dude as ADAMENNON.

Here we go.
I thought it could be cool to post here some old demos/records of bands i played with in the past.

Nervi was formed on the ashes of OxGxMx, a sort of very basic punk/funk band with female singer, trying to follow the steps of bands like Submission Hold or Sakè (if you think this description sounds charming well...actually, we sucked hard).
After that band splitted, the 3 original members (bass/guit and me on drums) recruited Melo on vocals (ex- By All Means, Society Of Jesus, Egotismo, No Somos Nada...and so on) and started playing something between grindcore/powerviolence and hc thrash. Melo, having just moved from Modena to Milano, seemed enthusiast and everything worked fine for a couple of years. The band was located in the Milano area, and at the time we were all squatter punx living at La Villa Occupata, an old anarchist squat ten years old situated in the northern side of the city. We played a lot of shows, and even made a couple of small tours outside our country (germany, switzerland, holland) before our guitar player Dimitri decided to leave the city for the ligurian hills...after this band disbanded, another story called THRASH BRIGADE started.
Note: this demo was originally released  tape only format. Actually, i don't have a camera to put some pictures of the layout or the lyrics, but later i will add some.

VALIENT THORR "immortalizer" LP + live in Italy 2009

(io funziono così, vado a fisime e periodi).

LUNEDI 06 LUGLIO 2009 @ BOLOGNA :
death before work!

INSECT WARFARE one sided LP (625 thrash)

I still don't have it in my hands, but i got this mp3 from a friend.
This is INSECT WARFARE's epitaph and, in my personal opinion, this record owns only one definition:
it fuckin' rips
.
I remember reading an old band's interview in Short, Fast & Loud where they talked about the planning of releasing a noisecore record, but that an entire LP would have been a bit boring.
So here we got a one sided Lp where noise & brutality go hand in hand; it amazes me the way they manage to let everything going ape with apparently no control, while instead they still manage to let the sound having some meaning.
This is not pointless noise, it's some whirlwind sounding grindcore played by people who has it scratched in their hearts. I will miss this band.
They used to rule my world.

Grindcore for the masses.

You can find the entire recording here:
